SWIP

SWIP is a 3D Printed Modular Water Bottle line that was developed in collaboration with University of Michigan students and Detroit Community High School students from Brightmoore, MI.  This project was developed as a group project with Rachel Krasnik, Madison Batish & Andrea Levy as well as the students at Detroit Community High School in Brightmoore).

The name SWIP was born out of the idea of exchangeable components--a speaker, a mirror, and a wallet--for the center of the water bottle that could be swapped: sip+swap=SWIP. We launched the initial, successful prototype of SWIP at DCHS in 2016 as a project for Professor Nick Tobier’s Change by Design course.

This project later won the Ford College Community Challenge “Making Lives Better” with a $20,000 grant to help develop the DCHS Maker Space
